About the Club
At Excel Sport, we welcome all children and aim to make a lasting impact on their journey, both on and off the field. We are different to most organisations, we’re not just any club, we build people first whilst having a whole load of fun. While many organisations focus on promises of professional football, we believe sport is fundamentally about helping young people grow—physically, socially, and emotionally. Any progression into the professional game is a consequence of doing the basics well, not the objective.
We recognise that we may not be the lowest-cost option; however, our focus is on delivering consistently high-quality provision that offers genuine value through expertise, care, and long-term impact. Our programmes have been carefully developed over many years and are led and quality-assured by Dan Manzi, a qualified psychologist and UEFA A Licence coach—a qualification held by fewer than 2,000 coaches nationwide. As a parent of three children, all of whom have been brought up through sport, Dan understands first-hand the role that positive sporting environments play in confidence, character, and long-term wellbeing. This personal experience, combined with his Level 3 Youth Coaching qualification and strong grounding in pedagogy, ensures sessions are thoughtful, child-centred, and developmentally appropriate.
We focus on giving children aged 3-12 the right start in life, supporting parents in building positive environments for growth and learning. As one of the largest sports coaching organisations in North London and South Hertfordshire, we bring over 30 years of experience, coaching thousands of children each week. We are different. Our approach is scientifically informed and personalised, ensuring that each child—whatever their skill level—receives the same level of care and guidance. While some parents dream of a future in professional sport for their child (and several of our athletes have moved to professional clubs!), most simply want the broader life skills that sports provide.
